This October, two of County Cavan’s finest musical talents will take to the road as rising star Marcus Magee joins renowned folk singer Lisa O’Neill on her highly anticipated Irish tour.
Marcus Magee is rapidly making a name for himself in the alternative and folk music world. Magee burst onto the scene earlier this year with the launch of his debut album Rising from the Hollaw, alongside his band, The Hollaw Men. Their haunting debut single, “Mac Dee,” garnered widespread radio play, with Fiachna Ó Braonáin of RTÉ Radio 1 praising it as “a beautiful and poignant piece of work.”
Multiple sell-out headline shows across Ireland have cemented Magee’s reputation as a soulful and gifted songwriter, musician, and captivating live performer. A masterful storyteller, Magee delivers an electrifying blend of rock, blues, and folk, all deeply infused with the resilience and hope drawn from his personal journey of overcoming adversity.
Marcus Magee & the Hollaw Men recently concluded their album launch tour, but frontman Magee is preparing to hit the road again, this time in a solo capacity. Later this month, he will join acclaimed fellow Cavan musician Lisa O’Neill as the support act for six major shows across Ireland, most of which have already sold out.
Lisa O’Neill is recognised as one of the most evocative singers and songwriters in contemporary Irish music. Her popularity continues to grow from strength to strength on the back of her recent album All of This is a Chance, released on the iconic Rough Trade label.
