Following up a phenomenal rise over the last 18 months Waterford Rapper Flexx Carter is about to drop his debut EP ‘The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known‘ which promises to cement him on the Irish music scene.

The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known‘ is out August 22, 2025 with an EP launch show on the same day in The Vic, Tramore.

Reminiscent of old skool mix tapes across eight tracks Flexx Carter takes us on a Hip Hop education on his latest release ‘The Strangest Life I’ve Known’ EP. Influenced by Hip Hop royalty such as Tyler, The Creator, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Mac Miller and Eminem ‘The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known’ is chock full of tight lyrical bars displaying Flexx Carter’s swagger, humour, self-depreciation and experiences of the darker side of the music industry.

Of the EP Flexx Carter says, “I lived this EP, now you get to hear it. This is The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known brought to you by my lows and triumphs……enjoy”

Intro’ gives a taste of what to expect across the eight tracks of the EP, with its hints of disillusionment with the music industry all the while maintaining Flexx’s now familiar sense of humour. His use of tight, punchy, syllable heavy lines on tracks ‘Work’ and ‘My Pace’ sees him draw comparisons to Eminem.

While, single ‘No Discussion’ featuring the laid-back vocals of Joe Butler reminds the listener of 90’s RnB with it’s softer, vibey refrain. Meanwhile, underneath tracks like ‘Superhero’, ‘The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known’ and ‘Work’ it’s hard to deny the Timbaland influence.

Thematically ‘The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known’ EP ties Flexx Carters storytelling together to take us on a journey through the defining period between school and adulthood, where we are discovering the world, our values and where we fit into it.

While we find hints to Hip Hop heavyweights throughout the EP we also see Flexx explore what it means to be front and center taking influence from lead singers such as Axel Rose and Jim Morrison, the EP title is also a Morrison quote. Known for his evocative lyrics and powerful storytelling Flexx Carter has carved out a niche in the rap world drawing from his own life experiences to create music that resonates deeply with his audience.

‘The Strangest Life I’ve Ever Known’ EP was preceded by singles ‘No Discussion’ and ‘Work’ which saw Flexx Carter featured on Today FM, 2FM, Red FM, Galway Bay FM, WLRFM, Beat 102-103, Tipp FM, and featured on RTE’sBehind the Music’, and Hot Press magazine.
