“It feels as though her time is about to come.”  Irish Independent

Hailed for having “one of the best voices in Ireland bar none” (The GOO), soulful pop artist Baba today announces that her debut album Truth will be released on Friday 30th May via Welcome To The New World. Pre-save here.

Baba will herald the album release with a headline show at The Workman’s Cellar, Dublin on Friday 23rd May. Tickets €18 + booking fee on sale this Wednesday 19th February at 10am. Ticket link here.

“This album is my story—my journey through the highs and lows of recent years, shaped by love, loss, and the search for meaning,” says Baba about this incredibly personal body of work.

“It is an honest reflection on grief, resilience, and self-discovery, born from my struggles with fertility, the heartbreak of baby loss, and the mental health challenges that followed. It is a story about facing the complexities of healing while embracing those glorious moments of love, joy, nostalgia, and hope. Always hope. There was room for some bangers in there too!”

The album was co-written and produced by Enda Gallery on location in Siobhán’s kitchen in Dublin, Enda’s studio in Kilfenora, via Lisbon and LA, and more often than not, in between hospital appointments–and later with a brand-new baby on her knee. “Looking back, it is no mean feat that we got this album completed,” says BABA.

The 12 track album includes the singles ‘Love Like This’, ‘Sad Party’, ‘Apollo’, and the title track, ‘Truth’. “The album feels like it is divided into four distinct acts, each portraying a different story from various periods of my life over the past few years. These ‘acts’ are connected by voice note interludes that provide a glimpse into my world and the inspirations behind the music,” says BABA.

Baba is a truly exceptional creative who lives and breathes her art. She has a unique perspective on the world and a deep connection to music, which she channels into her soulful and eclectic songwriting. Her live performances—including Electric Picnic and The Ruby Sessions—are captivating, leaving audiences gasping for more.

Baba’s talent has not gone unnoticed, with her single ‘I Defy’ being included on the second edition of 100% Her, curated by Universal Production Music UK, which showcases contemporary songs written exclusively by women. 100% Her was mixed by Olga Fitzroy (Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Peter Gabriel) and mastered by Katie Tavini. ‘I Defy’ was also used by Film4 to promote their summer film range.

Baba is a force to be reckoned with in the Irish music scene, arming herself with emotionally honest lyrics and her dulcet vocals.
