London-based indie band Proton Pool Party, originally from Donegal and Monaghan, have released their debut EP, ‘Pigeon Walking‘.
The four-piece is made up of Davy Byrne (songwriter, bass and vocals), his brother Matthew Byrne (guitar and vocals), Adam Cullen (guitar), and David Brady (drums). Three members of the band are NUIG music students, with Matthew and Adam having recently returned from Erasmus in Spain.

This summer, the band launched their first EP, ‘Pigeon Walking’, with live shows around London and a recent performance at Stendhal Festival.
Two tracks from the EP were recorded in Moya Brennan’s Wicklow studio. Moya was a great mentor to Proton Pool Party, and the band remain very grateful for the support she showed them.

The single ‘The Sand’ was recorded in Valley Studio, Donegal, where Muireann Bradley first recorded her music. The latest single, ‘He Likes Flowers’, was recorded in Belfast with producer Rocky O’Reilly.
