Pop Sensation Allie Sherlock Unveils Stunning Ode to Self-Expression in New Single ‘Damage Control’

May 2, 2025

19-year-old Irish pop sensation Allie Sherlock drops her brand new single ‘Damage Control’ – a beautiful ode to self-expression and the societal pressures of putting on a brave face – written with her collaborator Karen Poole (Kylie Minogue, Sugababes, Lily Allen, Becky Hill).

Possessing a clear talent for tapping into the angst and confusion so many teenagers go through, ‘Damage Control’ sees Allie switch up subject matters, this time shining a spotlight on emotional insecurities: “All my life I’ve struggled with expressing myself, and I know I’m not alone in that. A lot of people can relate to what it feels like to force a smile, to be the life of the party even when you’re falling apart inside. That’s what my new song Damage Control is about—trying to keep it together when you don’t feel like yourself.” .

‘Damage Control’ follows a recent hub of exciting activity that included sell-out tour with stops in Europe, UK and the US, and culminated in a packed-to-the-rafters sold-out singalong for Allie’s hometown headline show at Cyrus Avenue, Cork where she previewed her new single for the first time.

Allie will play The Great Escape in Brighton on May 16th as well as a host of Irish dates including Kaleidoscope Festival (6th July), Live at Leopardstown (17th July) and a support slot with The Script in Limerick (12th July).

Allie’s journey began on the streets of Cork and Dublin where she honed her craft as a busker. Her distinctive voice and captivating presence quickly caught people’s attention and she has amassed an impressive global fanbase with over 14.5 million followers across her social media platforms.

Her continued remarkable rise is a testament to sheer talent and resilience. Raised in Cork, Ireland, Allie faced significant personal challenges, including the loss of her mother at the age of nine, and struggles with bullying which led her to leave school and pursue music full-time. It was during her time busking on Grafton Street that her performance of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Supermarket Flowers’ went viral, leading to her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (watch here), where she stunned audiences with a cover of Adele’s ‘A Million Years Ago’ – propelling her into the international spotlight. Since then, Allie has gone from strength to strength, selling out shows across the UK and Ireland..

Last year, Allie made waves with her debut single How Love Works’, written with Ella Henderson and Ollie Green. She also performed on Ireland’s premier TV show The Late Late Show (watch here), delighted fans with a special collaboration on Grafton Street with Tom Grennan, has already sold out headline shows across the UK and Ireland and supported acts such as OneRepublic, Picture This and Gavin James.

With ‘Damage Control’, she continues to evolve as an artist, tapping into the complexities of teenage life with unflinching honesty and emotional depth. Allie Sherlock is a star on the rise as she continues to cement her place as one of pop’s most exciting young talents.
