PHOENO (fee:no) latest single, “Safety,” is an electrifying clash of shimmering synths and brooding guitar, crafting a sound as turbulent as the emotions it explores. The track captures the quiet ache of letting go, not with anger, but with the slow, painful acceptance that some bonds aren’t meant to last.

Stripping vulnerability down to its core, PHOENO blends confessional lyrics with soaring electro-indie production. Gritty guitars wrestle against airy synths, mirroring the tension between holding on and moving forward. “Safety” is a song about choosing to protect yourself. It’s an anthem for the hollow moments after goodbye, and the strength it takes to walk away.

SAFETY was recorded in the UK and Ireland with producer Richie Kennedy (The Murder Capitol & The Last Dinner Party) and mixed by John Catlin (Foals, Warpaint and Death Cab For Cutie).

The name PHOENO comes from Dublin’s iconic Phoenix Park. Long term musical collaborators Adam Matthews and Liam Corbett took to taking long runs together during the many Covid lockdowns. On these epic treks, they’d talk about sounds, lyrics, themes. The running became its own escape and the landscape became the backdrop for a new musical entity. And so PHOENO was born from The Phoeno. An album of songs and a new band was the delicious fruits of a difficult time.
