One Flew Over release second single ‘Rise’

January 20, 2023

One Flew Over is composed of Irene Ní Chuinn & Martin Quinn from Kells, Co. Meath and was formed in 2019. Their sound, often with strong melodies and weighty arrangements contains influences of Rock, classic Rhythm & Blues and Soul. Martin was previously a member of Little Palace and a live touring musician with acts like TURN, Eimear Quinn, Hail The Ghost and many more.

According to the band, new single ‘Rise’, released today, is about “breaking away from the constraints that hold you and finally becoming liberated and free. It begins, ‘You make the rules and I stand in line like a good girl… I pay you in full then you hold out your hand for more ’ guided by a tense web of guitar motifs. The song is a defiant dawning that enough is enough! The chorus is an upbeat charge forward, bolting out of the traps… It’s time to get away”.

Rise was produced by Martin Quinn (Ham Sandwich, Una Healy, Aine Cahill, Hail the Ghost) and recorded & mixed at JAM Studios, Kells, Co. Meath, Ireland.
∙ Drums by Andrew Quinn
∙ Bass, Guitars, Piano, Keys, Backing Vocals by Martin Quinn.
∙ Lead & Backing Vocals: Irene Ní Chuinn.
