Sunny Day’ came out on 13 June and was received warmly with Hot Press saying – “Novatone capture the daydream of escape with feel-good ease and folk-pop shimmer. Following up February’s acclaimed ‘Spotlight’, ‘Sunny Day’ marks another confident step from a band blending sincerity with polish and growing momentum.”

TheBeat.ie said it’s “reminiscent of Talking Heads and The Beautiful South. The duo’s two-piece harmonies are stunning”.

So far, ‘Sunny Day’ has received extensive support including 2XM, Shannonside Northern Sound, Ocean FM, Midlands 103FM, KCLRFM, Hot Press, Wicklow People, Pure M, Bray People, TheBeat.ie, Kilkenny People, Extra.ie & Wexford People.

Both ‘Sunny Day’ and the debut single ‘Spotlight’ are on Bandcamp & streaming platforms.

Sarah Corcoran from Pillow Queens said of their debut single “Spotlight reminds me of Rilo Kiley meets Belle and Sebastian meets Carnival era The Cardigans – very cool”.

Having performed as an acoustic duo previously, Novatone, who are based on the Wicklow Wexford border, expanded their sound recently with a full band and played their first electric gig in November 2024 to a packed room in Little Whelan’s.

In February they headlined Whelan’s Upstairs and in April they shared the main stage at Whelan’s with Sack, Mundy, Brian Branigan (A Lazarus Soul) at the Stay Human fundraiserWATCH LIVE FOOTAGE HERE of the crowd singing with them at only their 3rd gig as a full band. They also played an intimate acoustic concert at Fennellys in Callan.
