New single release ‘Astronauts’ from Loud Motive

March 4, 2022

Following knockout performances at Electric Picnic, The Button Factory, The Academy, Castlepalooza, HWCH & selling out shows in legendary Dublin Venues Whelans, The Workmans, The Sound House and The Sugar Club –  Loud Motive are set to bring their sound to a whole new level this year, starting 2022 off with new single release ‘Astronauts’.

Loud Motive’s music is a fusion of seductive guitar melodies and intricate wordplay with hip-hop sensibilities. In this way, a vibrant, mainstream sonic landscape is created. The band’s experimental sound occasionally plunges us into a world of sweet swirling sounds combining the poignant essence of grunge rock with afro-beats and twists, juxtaposed with socioeconomic and politically charged lyrics reminiscent of various news stories that have been making headlines in Ireland in recent years. Loud Motive are “The act to watch” in 2022, unafraid to speak their truths and mirror them across their music repertoire.

Commenting on their music, Loud Motive’s Marvell delves into every- day issues and scenarios the young Dubliner has dealt with as he and his longtime friends try to assert themselves as Hip Hop heavyweights in the ever-growing Irish Urban community:

Our mission is to showcase a different side of the musical talent that is on display here in Ireland and to take it to the world stage, at a new height where we can be proud to say we have played a fundamental part in the growth of Irish Urban music and art. – Marvell, Ridler Tempo & Dano

The band have acquired a wealth of talent behind them, including world-renowned producer and musician Danny Saber who has worked with Madonna, David Bowie, U2, Busta Rhymes and Public Enemy to name a few. They draw musical influences from Kanye West, Lil Wayne and 50 Cent. Through all the different elements they brought to hip-hop and the connections they brought forth, they made it easy for the band to resonate with. Others include Miles Davis, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Red Hot Chili Peppers and J. Cole who then inspired them to take a deeper approach to writing music, allowing them to connect emotionally, spiritually and mentally with the creative dimensions to their craft.
