On November 26, 2024, acclaimed Dublin singer-songwriter Naimee Coleman releases her deeply reflective new single, “Once That Girl,” from her latest album The Edges. This introspective track finds Naimee examining the passage of time, with an evocative melody that weaves strings and piano into a warm, wintery soundscape, perfect for the season.

With an impressive career spanning two decades, Naimee Coleman first rose to prominence after signing with EMI Records and recording her debut album, Silver Wrists, at the renowned Abbey Road Studios. Her follow-up album, Bring Down The Moon, saw her collaborate with Ian Stanley of Tears For Fears, which launched her into the spotlight with extensive tours, including opening for legends like Van Morrison, David Gray, and Suzanne Vega. Known for her angelic voice and lyrical depth, Naimee also found international acclaim as the featured vocalist on Aurora’s Top 5 reimagining of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World,” including a performance on Top of the Pops.

Commenting on “Once That Girl,” Naimee describes the song as “a warm, wintery song, full of memories and questions. It’s a song about the passing of time and how moments we live end up being memories. I loved singing with the strings and piano.” The track highlights Naimee’s evolved songwriting, demonstrating the maturity and depth of her craft that fans and critics alike have praised. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2004, Naimee immersed herself in the California music scene, writing extensively for both herself and other artists. Her work has appeared in numerous Disney, Warner Brothers, and CBS productions, broadening her impact beyond music and into television and film. She has collaborated with a roster of exceptional musicians over the years, including drummer Adam Marcello (Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles), guitarist Steve Mazur (Our Lady Peace), and fellow Irish artists like Paul Noonan and longtime collaborator Gemma Hayes. Naimee’s return to Ireland has seen her embrace her singer-songwriter roots while exploring new creative directions with The Edges. “Once That Girl” showcases this artistic transformation, where her signature vocal timbre now meets a profound lyrical depth that captures universal themes of memory, nostalgia, and self-reflection.
