Returning to the Workman’s Club on the 18th of May, the 2025 edition of the Music & Mental Health Festival will investigate the connection between music and anxiety from the perspective of artists, industry professionals and fans, while emphasizing available support for people working in the creative sector.
Headlined by pop-soul singer-songwriter Tolü Makay, the gigs promise an exciting mix of acts including Stockholm-born rapper Skull The Pierre and all-female four-piece band Martina and The Moons on the Main Stage. Downstairs in the Cellar, catch intimate sets from rising soul-pop star Calum Agnew, five-piece band Trinkets, and second Headliner Cuban-Irish neo-soul artist Qbanaa.
Exploring how to manage anxiety in a music and touring environment and music’s therapeutic influence, the panel discussion ‘The Mental Setlist’ led by Breffni Banks (Serpentskirt MGMT) will feature Paul Noonan (Artist, Songwriter, Music Therapist), Lisa Murray (Artist, Songwriter, Producer), Kevin O’Byrne (Psychotherapist, Lyric Therapy Dublin) and Alice Jacquier (Tour Manager, Concert & Festival Production Manager).
Creative Arts Therapist Lyndsey Connolly is set to lead an interactive workshop focusing on music therapy, designed to create a safe, engaging space shining a light on anxiety from a therapeutic perspective.
Zoé Piater, founder and director of the festival, commented, “With both the conference and showcases, our aim is to foster a safe and welcoming space where musicians, industry professionals, and fans can openly share their experiences. By doing so, we hope to normalise conversations around mental health in the music industry while offering valuable resources and support.”
