More Acts Announced For Right Here Right Now 2021

Right Here Right Now festival returns for a fourth year this November to celebrate some of the finest in contemporary Irish music in the wonderful settings of Cork Opera House, Coughlan’s and Cyprus Avenue. Right Here Right Now is thrilled to announce a second batch of exciting shows for this year’s festival, joining the likes of Mary Coughlan, Wallis Bird, John Spillane and Junior Brother over the weekend of November 12-14. An exciting all-female bill of Mary Coughlan, Wallis Bird, Loah and Niamh Regan open the first night of Right Here Right Now on Friday November 12, accompanied by the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra. This is followed by a very special evening of traditional and folk music with John Spillane and Junior Brother, again playing alongside the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra on Saturday November 13.

Lorraine Nash and and Míde Houlihan will perform a double headline show at Coughlans on Saturday 13 at 4pm. Míde is known for her honest, sometimes humorous, sometimes heart wrenching songwriting and has being described as a diamond in what can sometimes be a crowded scene. Lorraine Nash is an exciting emerging songwriter writing songs full of lyrical beauty and vivid imagery. She has become one of the most played artists on RTE Radio 1 since the release of her debut EP in 2020. Caoilian Sherlock began playing guitar and writing songs since the age of fifteen and has performed with  bands such as The Shaker Hymn and The Tan Jackets. Caoilian is preparing to release his latest EP, Big Child, on November 10. Caoilian performs Sunday 14 at 4pm in Coughlans. Interference featuring special guest, Glen Hansard, will perform at Cyprus Avenue on Sunday, November 14 at 7pm. Interference are the legendary Irish band based around singer-songwriter Fergus O’Farrell. Their sound has influenced a generation of Irish musicians. O’Farrell began his musical journey while still in school forming the band with James O’Leary and teaming up with Malcolm MacClancy to write songs. To this day the musical collective he called interference continue to work and perform together, and when they do play live it is considered an event not to be missed.
The concert is a celebration of the release of the film documentary ‘Breaking Out’ based on the life of O’Farrell, which is due for release on 19th November. Filmed over ten years it follows O’Farrell and his band from their own recording studio set up in Dublin in the early ’90’s to their triumphant performance in Radio City Music Hall in 2008 with Glen Hansard and the Swell Season and onwards to the last recording sessions, O’Farrells’ sudden passing in early 2016 and the release in 2017 of O’Farrells’ last album.
