Following the momentum of their first two releases, alt-pop duo mischa and the bear return with their third single ‘Forever Ago‘ on July 25, followed swiftly by their highly anticipated debut EP ‘Even Unto The Next World‘, set for release on August 8.Forever Ago‘ captures a shift in tone, darker, sharper, and more emotionally exposed.

Where earlier singles hinted at vulnerability, ‘Forever Ago‘ puts it front and centre. A self reflective expose about the slow breakdown of a close friendship, the kind of bond where identity and admiration start to bleed into something more complicated. It refl ects that moment where trust falters and you’re left questioning what was ever real. The song doesn’t off er resolution, just an honest reckoning with grief, resentment and self-recognition.

This latest release marks another step forward for a project that has been steadily building momentum since early 2025. Previous singles ‘Deny’ and ‘Get Away’ were both named Track of the Week on separate shows on RTÉ 2FM, and the band has already picked up tastemaker support from District Magazine, Nialler9, John Kennedy (Radio X) and others.

With their debut EP just around the corner, mischa and the bear are here to soundtrack the summer with songs that cut through the noise, emotionally direct, sonically rich, and deeply human.

“Forever Ago is about being hurt by someone who once felt like a part of you, and knowing you probably hurt them too. It’s a snapshot of how I felt in that moment, written from a place of hurt and anger”. bear 🐾
