Dublin-born independent artist Methodactor returns with ‘I wanna cry‘, his latest self-produced hip-hop-infused pop single, to be released February 6th. The track delves into the intense longing for someone and the uncertainty that comes with their absence, while also capturing the broader sense of confusion many young people face about life and purpose in today’s world.
Written during the pandemic, when the 5km travel restriction was in place, the song has since evolved into a direct and soulful love anthem, infused with a laid-back yet detached vibe reflective of young people today.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Blood Orange, Frank Ocean, and Gorillaz, Methodactor combines raw emotion with smooth, introspective production, crafting a sound that speaks to the complexities of modern relationships and self-discovery.
“I Wanna Cry” is the first release in a series of upcoming tracks from Methodactor this year. This will be accompanied by a music video and extensive social media campaign. He will be making his headline debut on February 22nd at Crowbar Terrace in Dublin, where he’ll perform alongside co-headliner Leah Rose.
