Dublin’s next superstar artist Megan Burke returns with her latest single, continuing a run that’s been building steadily into something impossible to ignore.
Blending classic naughties R&B, soul, disco and pop, Megan’s sound leans into groove without losing its edge. It’s polished but not too clean, with plenty of bite still in it. Raised on soul, she writes from instinct, landing somewhere between late-night honesty and dancefloor pop.
Over the past year, she’s built a following of over 155k across socials, with clips regularly pulling in millions of views. That online buzz hasn’t stayed online, leading to national radio play, TV appearances, and live shows at rooms like The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and the 3Arena. All independently.
Her earlier work with producer Denis Horgan (Kneecap, Aaron Rowe) saw her hit No.1 on the iTunes chart, a moment that marked a shift from “emerging” to something bigger. Since then, she’s leaned further into a full band setup, chasing a sound that feels more alive, more physical. It’s hard not to compare her style and honesty
This new release keeps that direction going.
Speaking about the track, Megan doesn’t dress it up:
“I’ve had some pretty bad relationships in the past that scarred and scared me and I vowed to be single forever. After a few years I wanted to dip the toe back into dating but on these dates I just couldn’t believe a word that came out of any of these men’s mouths. They all say they are ‘one of the good guys’ and ‘not like the rest’ at the start but after a while they turn out to be exactly like the others. I now have a self fulfilling prophecy that all men are the same.”
It’s blunt, but that’s the point. The track sits in that tension between cynicism and wanting to believe anyway.
Production comes from Erlend Johansen Slaatsveen, whose background runs from early dubstep roots into a more refined pop space, with credits including Subwoolfer and a string of fast-rising European acts. The song is co-written with Alan Roy Scott, whose catalogue spans names like Celine Dion, Ray Charles, Cyndi Lauper, The Notorious B.I.G. and Luther Vandross, among many others. That legacy shows up in the structure. Clean songwriting, no wasted space.
The single is now available across all platforms, along with a radio edit.
