Berlin based MANA blends the dark allure of post-punk with the infectious energy of new wave, crafting a familiar yet fresh sound that’s moody, melancholic, and impossible to ignore. This is certainly evident in the band’s latest offering – Junkyard of Trivialities.

Led by Greg Clifford (vocals and rhythm guitar), MANA delivers emotionally charged performances, driven by Shane Byrne’s sharp, atmospheric guitar work and Niclas Liebling’s pulsing bass grooves. Their music moves effortlessly between haunting intensity and danceable, high-energy hooks—perfect for both underground clubs and festival stages.

According to lyricist Greg Clifford ‘this song is essentially about being on the ropes but not throwing in the towel. Junkyard is a song born out of the fragmented polarised age we reside in. In times of unrest, prejudice and evil we must create and fight the good fight. Art binds, forges communities and transcends cultural divisions and boundaries. This song is our attempt to make sense of the world we reside in; an attempt to find inner peace and push back against the forces that suppress and extinguish illumination’.

The cover art was photographed by Dave Clifford, who cites how the image suggests ’empty dehumanisation’. In the infosphere we are presented with the illusion of freedom but paradoxically become subjected to increased control and surveillance.
