Freak, the brand-new single taken from Irish pop icon LYRA, is available Friday, January 31st, 2025.

Lyra’s latest offering is a leap forward for the artist for the follow up to her single ‘The Ending’. The record follows the Number #1 selling album LYRA which was released last year.  It has been an incredible 2024 for the Irish pop star, in support of her Number #1 album, LYRA has just completed a nationwide headline tour.

The Irish pop icon is also the only female Irish artist to have a #1 album in Ireland in 2024, she has captured the hearts and minds of the nation and is our hottest musical export. The pop icon impressively ended the year by performing to 30,000 fans across a sold-out headline tour in Ireland.

During 2024 LYRA teamed up to co- write ‘Freak’ with Bill Maybury (Kygo, James Bay, Jazzy, Cian Ducrot) and music producers Kingdoms (Tom Grennan, Bellah Mae, Sigala) ‘Freak’ who also produced the track.

‘Freak’ creates a new sound for LYRA, the end of one chapter and start of a new. The record opens with an infectious underground dance beat that pulls you in from the start. It continues with LYRA’s signature vocals, fused with techno dance elements.

On speaking of ‘Freak’ Lyra said: “Freak is a sexy single about the freak we all have inside. I mean they do say freak under the sheets don’t they… I wanted to express the sassy side of Lyra.”

Lyra’s enchanting Magic of Christmas – (Tinsel Version) was featured on the most recent An Post advertising campaign for December 2024 as well as RTE TV hit favourite show which broadcast on Christmas Day The Young Offenders.

2025 will see LYRA perform at festivals across Europe and Ireland where she will be debuting new material. Lyra is working on her sophomore album.

‘FREAK’ will be available on all platforms Friday, January 31st.
