Rising alternative-folk-pop artist Lucy Robinson has just released her brand-new single ‘Intergalactic‘. Following a string of acclaimed singles and high-profile live performances, Robinson and her band continue to cement their place as one of the most exciting new acts to watch across the UK and Ireland.
Written by Robinson herself, ‘Intergalactic is an ode to the people pleasers, the doormats, and the nice guys. Her guitar work, vocals, and songwriting take centre stage, while the track is powered by Si Frances’ pulsing basslines and Matt Weir’s dynamic drumming and production, creating a sound that is both cosmic and deeply human.
“It tells the story of the mental battle of going back and forth—wanting to be loved, but from someone whose intentions don’t always seem right,” says Robinson.
“It’s about the feeling of being stuck in a cosmic but crushing relationship, before finally deciding to choose yourself. Towards the end, the lyrics nod to the doormats of the world: if I had a doormat, I would treat them with love and respect.”
