Acclaimed Irish composer Lou McMahon features as the voice of the newly released Pacific Drive: Whispers in the Woods trailer, which premiered on the 9th of September on the IGN YouTube channel.

McMahon’s signature avant-garde, gothic vocal style intensifies the trailer’s eerie atmosphere, amplifying the haunting mystery of Ironwood Studios’ award-winning survival driving game. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

The trailer’s music is composed by Markus Zierhofer of Audiocreatures.

With her unique sound, Lou continues to merge the worlds of games, music, and performance art through her acclaimed project BUTTERFLY WARS.

Lou has been preparing her solo performance MEAISÍN at Glór, Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland (clips available on Instagram). It’s her home county, where while cold-water swimming in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean by Miltown Malbay in 2024/25 she developed “dead sound”: a melancholy meditation on limerence, the climate crisis, and alienation. The piece is avant-garde, weaving in choral vignettes, and has been submitted for Grammy consideration.

“Thriller and horror are genres that I love and I’ve always wanted to compose and sing for. Contributing to Pacific Drive is a dream come true, I am so thankful for Markus Zierhofer and the entire Pacific Drive family and fanbase for the opportunity and their wonderful art” Lou

“It’s been a meaningful couple of months — becoming a member of the Recording Academy and celebrating the release of the Pacific Drive game trailer are milestones I’m deeply thankful for.”Lou
