Liz Madden Literally Brings The House Down!!!

June 16, 2014

Irish artist Liz Madden, now based in New Mexico, literally ‘brought the house down’ at the world famous Albuquerque Folk Festival on liz maddenSaturday 7th June. Liz was in the middle of her set when the Albuquerque winds picked up and everyone had to be evacuated and the festival shut down. 15 mins after clearing the stage, the entire performance tent collapsed and was blown away, luckily with no injuries!!

With a whirlwind of a year ahead of her, Liz has just had two new album projects released, a jazz album with Nigel Clark(Hue & Cry, Carol Kidd) entitled Sunset Songs and a solo album of spiritual songs entitled Hear Your Voice, which was released last May in Asia.

With two new recording projects in the pipeline Liz recently recorded a new version of “Blackbird” for a new Acoustic Tribute to the Beatles which also features Ann Wilson(Heart), Jack Bruce(Cream) and Dale Bozzio(Missing Persons). The album is being produced by Billy Sherwood and Tony Kaye of YES fame.

Liz is currently back in studio writing/recording a new album with Fionan de Barra (Runa, Clannad, Moya Brennan) due for release worldwide later this year through Sony Distribution.

Her love of songwriting has now led her to write for other artists including German Singer/songwriter Saby O’, Liz provided the lyrics for the haunting maritime ballad Sea of Glass which features on Saby O’s new album With Arms Entwined.  Liz is also currently collaborating with Roots and Folk Singer/Songwriter Katie Carpenter of Jezzebelle. Liz and Katie have amassed a large number of songs and have just signed them to Gulliver Music Publishing. They will be releasing a new single next month!!
