Limerick-based soprano Eve Stafford released her latest single, Danny Boy, on Friday, 14th March. This evocative rendition of the beloved Irish ballad is dedicated to her Health & Harmony friends, reflecting her deep connection with the residents and care users she performs for regularly in nursing homes and dementia day care centres through the National Concert Hall’s outreach program – Health and Harmony.
Featuring the exquisite accompaniment of pianist and accordionist Denis Carey and violinist Anna Jane Ryan, this nostalgic and heartwarming version of Danny Boy captures the timeless essence of the song. The track also serves as a tribute to Eve’s early days as an entertainer at Bunratty Castle, where she honed her craft in traditional Irish music and performance.
This marks the third single from Eve’s highly anticipated debut album, Songbird, further cementing her reputation as a leading figure in the Irish classical crossover scene. Over the past year, the
“Limerick Songbird” has enjoyed remarkable success, selling out a series of solo concerts and delighting audiences with her signature blend of classical and traditional Irish music. Following a triumphant concert at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick in February, Eve is set to continue her 2025 concert schedule with performances across County Limerick and beyond.
