The three track release is a preview of the anticipated debut album, set for release next year.

Late Night Empires continue their song writing journey by releasing part two of their ‘I Dreamed a Life’ album – out now. The release consists of 3 songs and follows up last year’s ‘I Dreamed a Life Part 1’, which was also a three song release.

The lead single from that release, ‘Satellites‘, seeks to question the ongoing race toward the production of advanced technologies. While the greater social benefits of satellites, AI, GPS, mobile phone devices and social media have been lauded for making life more convenient and a means to bring communities together, their use within war and subjugation of populations highlight more sinister objectives.

Satellites’ takes the position of the average person in contrast to that power. One of the key lyrics, “we can try and save it all by throwing rocks at satellites” seeks to capture the frustration and sense of futility that people feel in trying to reclaim their agency.

This is particularly evident in the ongoing targeting of medical workers, journalists and entire families in Palestine, heartbreakingly broadcast before the eyes of the world each and every day, the many who feel powerless to prevent the emboldened few.

Paul O’Riordan, NJ Dubhlainte and Rob Carey have collectively written and released three previous albums under different guises, Newland Gesture’s “Acoustic Youth” 2001, Red Eskimo’s “The Grey Death Billow” 2009, and Changing Trains’ “Theory of Everything” 2015. The lifelong friends and writers have once again teamed up to write their most profound and reflective work to date with their signature melodic story telling.

I Dreamed a Life‘ deals with life, love, anger and loss but always with a sense of resistance, forgiveness and hope. With the final chapter already in the pipeline, this mid-album release stirs the emotions and sets the tone for next year’s full album release. I Dreamed a Life Part 1 and 2 are available to enjoy on all download and streaming sites.
