John Hynes is a singer-songwriter from Leixlip, Co. Kildare. His first two singles, “Caroline, I’m Yours” and “I’m Gonna Try,” both reached No. 1 on the RTE Radio 1 airplay chart. With a sound evocative of John Lennon, Roy Orbison and Glen Campbell, John’s music delves into the complexities of life and love. Originally written for a friend’s wedding, I later revised the lyrics, adding a layer of maturity to the message. The song celebrates the enduring power of love and companionship, highlighting the hope and resilience that come from facing life’s unknowns together—even “to the edge of doom,” a line borrowed from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116, a wedding favorite. Through this, the song captures love’s unwavering strength in the face of any challenge.”
