Junior Brother signs with Strap Originals + shares live performance of ‘Take Guilt’ recorded at Vicar Street
“Junior Brother has all but single-handedly upended the conception of experimental folk on these shores” – Brian Coney, The Thin Air
“Junior Brother’s voice is an unlovely but strangely compelling thing and his wayward guitar style is brittle and guttural… You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll think.” – Alan Corr, RTE.ie

Carefully pushing the boundaries of what modern Irish folk can look and sound like, Junior Brother is an idiosyncratic, challenging, and richly lyrical singer/songwriter from Co. Kerry.
Now, after building a reputation as one of the most original voices in Irish music, Junior Brother has officially signed with Strap Originals, the label founded by Pete Doherty of The Libertines. The collaboration promises exciting new music in the near future:

With Junior Brother’s recent single, ‘Take Guilt’, the fearless artistry for which he is admired reached exciting new heights, with thrilling clarity and shattering power.
Junior Brother now shares a powerful live performance video for ‘Take Guilt’, captured at Dublin’s iconic Vicar Street during the RTE Folk Awards. Directed, filmed, and edited by the renowned Myles O’Reilly, and performed with a full band: Phil Christie (keyboards), Tony McLoughlin (backing vocals), Dan Walsh (drums). This stunning rendition brings a raw, immersive energy to one of Junior Brother’s most intense and affecting songs.
Special thanks to all at the RTÉ Folk Awards and Vicar Street.
