Ian O’Doherty releases “Heartbeats Shifting”

August 13, 2014

ianodoherty“Heartbeats Shifting” is the much anticipated second instalment in a series of singles being released this year by Ian O’Doherty. Following on from the recent success of ‘Woven’, O’Doherty returns with this groove orientated toe-tapper reminiscent of early Midlake or Fleetwood Mac.

“Heartbeat Shifting” is the result of O’Doherty spending weeks of the early summer locked away in a makeshift studio in Cork City working through inspired hours and perspired days with his trusted co-producer Brendan Fennessy of O Emperor. Some of the synthier tones synonymous with ‘Woven’ are stripped back creating quite a raw guitar, drum and bass feel that staples down ‘Heartbeats Shifting’ to a three and a half minute anti-love anthem.

Heartbeats Shifting will surely cement Ian O’Doherty’s arrival on the Irish Indie music scene with plenty more to come from one of Kerry’s (until now) hidden talents.
