‘Hey Sean’ track in support of Green Ribbon Campaign

May 7, 2013

DermoLambertDermot Lambert, frontman with acclaimed Irish band Blink will release “Hey Sean” from his upcoming solo album “Tiny” to help kick-start a new Irish campaign to get people talking about mental health.

Taking place during the month of May, the green ribbon campaign will see 150,000 ribbons distributed nationwide and free of charge with the aim of sparking a national conversation about mental health in Ireland’s boardrooms, break-rooms, chat-rooms, clubhouses, arts venues, college campuses and around kitchen tables.

“Hey Sean” can be pre-ordered on iTunes and will officially go on sale on Friday 17th May with all proceeds going towards the green ribbon campaign. Funds raised by the single will go towards making the month of May every year synonymous with challenging the stigma of mental health problems and lay groundwork for real and lasting change in Irish attitudes and behaviours to mental health.

During his ten years with Blink, Lambert enjoyed great success both at home and abroad, with three platinum selling albums, and numerous hit singles, including Cello, It’s Not My Fault, Going to Nepal and Happy Day.

Blink also enjoyed numerous award nominations, and critical acclaim from The Irish Times to Hot Press to Billboard Magazine. Whilst blazing a trail for Irish musicians with his Garageland Project in recent years, Dermot has had significant successes, including bringing the likes of The Script, Ryan Sheridan, Royseven, Delorentos, & Ham Sandwich to their first ever live shows – while at the same time, always putting this work together in his own ‘garage’, which is now finally ready for release on June 28th with a launch show in the Village and appearances at Electric Picnic are also planned.
