GRAMMY and BRIT-nominated Irish singer-songwriter RuthAnne releases re-imagined version of ‘The Vow’ featuring Luke Burr
GRAMMY and BRIT-nominated Irish singer-songwriter RuthAnne today announces her reimagined version of viral hit “The Vow” featuring singer Luke Burr. First released in 2018 as her first solo single, ‘The Vow’ has built its own colourful and still-snowballing story. Seven years since its release, the track continues to go viral on an annual basis, providing the soundtrack to weddings (Over 5M likes on this viral video) and engagements (Molly Mae & Tommy Fury), whilst breaking the UK Top 40 and hitting the Irish Number One spot twice. Molly Mae and Tommy Fury’s Today RuthAnne also announces a two-date headline tour in October, including a show at The Sugar Club in Dublin on 15 October and One Ninety Four in London on 23 October.
“The Vow has been the greatest gift and brought so many amazing moments into my life and I’ve always wanted to record a duet version of it. I’m obsessed with Luke’s voice and I just knew he would sound gorgeous singing it. We wanted to really strip the song back to its core emotion of unconditional love and blend our voices together and breathe new life into the song. I love how ‘The Vow’ just keeps growing and being discovered and I hope this duet version can be the soundtrack to more of people’s most special moments’” – RuthAnne
LISTEN TO THE VOW FEATURING LUKE BURR
RuthAnne has spent the last two decades shaping modern pop from behind the scenes — with over 12 billion streams across her songwriting catalogue, and over 200 million for her own artist releases. But now, the mother of two is inviting listeners into a body of work that reflects the emotional depth, lived experience and raw honesty that defines her voice. And it is through her 20 years of experience often being the only woman in the room, that the idea for her debut book It’s Not Just A Song came into fruition. Available to pre-order now, and out on 25 September on Faber Music, the book is an empowering guide to songwriting and surviving the music industry. RuthAnne speaks to some of the biggest global superstars and songwriters about their process and the writer’s room, including Amy Allen (Sabrina Carpenter, Harry Styles, Tate McRae, Selena Gomez, Halsey) John Legend (Estelle, Janet Jackson, Steph Jones (Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Blackpink) Dan Wilson (Adele, Dixie Chicks) and Emily Warren – Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers.)
PRE-ORDER IT’S NOT JUST A SONG
Drawing inspiration from great storytellers like Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, and Alicia Keys, RuthAnne will release her album The Moment on 10 October. The record is a love letter to classic songwriting and a reminder that vulnerability and craft are timeless. The Moment was written in some of life’s most intimate corners — on the tube, in the shower, while breastfeeding her newborn, even lying on an acupuncture table — moments of quiet reflection where RuthAnne began to ask herself what she truly wanted to say as an artist.
A mum of two and a passionate advocate for women’s health, RuthAnne is also the co-founder of Endo&Me, an educational initiative raising menstrual health awareness in Irish schools. After years of misdiagnosis, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis and adenomyosis, experiences that inspired her emotionally raw recent single “The Way I’m Wired”.
