‘It started on THE LATE LATE SHOW!’
Fiachna O Braonain, Tom Dunne & Alan Connor share second single, “Our Song” from their forthcoming album “Live At The Pavilion” following on from their hugely popular debut single “The Chokin’ Kind”.
“Our Song” is a call for unity, peace and love through a diversity of songs.
Back in April 2023 Fiachna, Tom and Alan were invited to perform on RTE 1 TV’s legendary Late Late Show to perform a selection of hit songs from their respective musical careers with Hothouse Flowers and Something Happens. interspersed with conversation, perhaps a little traditional Irish music as well!
Fiachna, not wishing the trio to be perceived as purely a heritage act boldly suggested the trio play one of their new songs. YES! Came the resounding reply!
Fiachna called Tom to give him the excellent news that they’d agreed to the new song! ‘Which new song is that Fiachna??’ replied Tom. ‘The one we’re going to write between now and Friday!’ replied Fiachna.
And with that voice notes were exchanged… the seeds of the song sketched by Fiachna while out walking his dog bounced back-and-forth between himself Alan and Tom until ‘Our Song’ was completed in less than 24 hours! Alan’s barrelhouse piano holding down the groove, Fiachna and Toms’ vocal harmonies weaving into the song’s message of unity, peace and love through a diversity of songs.
Our Song is out today, on November 15th 2024!
The album Live At The Pavilion will be released on November 22nd 2024 on CD and on all digital platforms and is already available to download exclusively on Bandcamp in advance of the full release.
