Erica Cody to Release Sensuous New Single ‘Back To Basics’

August 16, 2021

Dublin R&B artist Erica Cody is a leading figure in the Irish music scene, garnering national airplay and gracing the cover of top publications such as Sunday Independent’s Life Magazine. Her infectious sound has seen support from key Spotify playlists like New Music Friday and tastemaker outlets including Notion Magazine. The singer exudes a confidence in her brand of classic 90s R&B, a confidence that has seen her share the stage with living legends En Vogue. Fresh off the back of her last single, which went straight to No. 1 on the Irish iTunes Charts, Erica is back with her sensuous new release ‘Back To Basics’, out 20th August.

‘Back To Basics’ is her most confident release to date, and the first taster of Erica’s forthcoming EP. It is raw and honest, looking boldly at the concept of baring all in infatuation. The highly-stylised track is delivered with a stunning vocal performance, further testimony to this rising star’s artistic evolution. The artist says of her upcoming release – “Nothing needs to be complicated when you can keep it simple. Love can be complicated but only if we make it that way. When you take it back to basics and ignore the outside noise that’s when it works best.

Erica was also an integral part of Irish Women In Harmony, a collaborative release of The Cranberries’ ‘Dreams’ orchestrated by GRAMMY nominated artist RuthAnne Cunningham. It saw 40 of Ireland’s leading female artists join forces to support Safe Ireland in an effort to end domestic abuse and coercive control in Ireland. The song has over 6 million Spotify streams and the stripped-back video, filmed by artists at home during the first Covid-19 lockdown, has been viewed over 3 million times. It seems whatever this rising star touches turns to gold. With a truly dazzling positive outlook and an unrivaled work ethic, Erica’s rise looks sure to continue to great heights in 2021 and beyond.
