Empathy‘s highly anticipated debut single “Jeffrey” is set to drop this August 26th. The new track features a concoction of blunt-force rhythms and growling bass lines that lurk beneath a wall of screaming guitars. The song investigates the descent from ideation to reasoning, and finally to indulgent actions through a trudging riff and explosive vocals that hit you in the chest like a 10lb dumbbell.

Speaking about the single, the band says: “Jeffrey is an interpretation of the internal struggles and moral wranglings of one of the most well-known serial killers of the 20th century. The ominous undertones, suggestive lyrics, and violent guitars provoke an uncomfortable assessment of vile urge, wicked manifestation, and twisted behaviour. This song is heavy and sharp in all departments, and will leave a mark.”

Whilst Empathy is set to release their debut single, they are also steadily establishing themselves as an emerging act on the live Irish music scene with several sold out shows under their belt including headline shows in The Button Factory, Upstairs at Whelan’s and most recently teasing the single with an in-studio performance for the “…At The Bunker” series. Their style, music and live performance all forge a formidable partnership that is a force to be reckoned with.
