Emerging Irish alt-rock band Bowery Boy are set to release their latest single, “Wide Awake”, on March 7th, 2025. An emotionally charged, heavy-hitting and grunge-influenced track, Wide Awake is the second single from the Meath-based band. The track was recorded at JAM Studios with renowned producer and engineer, Martin Quinn, and is the follow-up to their well-received debut single “Fortified” released in late ’24.
Frontman and songwriter Paul Clarke reflects on the track, stating, “I often feel blessed to use the gift of songwriting to express emotions I would never normally share with the world. For me, Wide Awake is a perfect example of catharsis through creativity. There’s no denying that I was in a dark place while writing it, and there were specific reasons for that. Thankfully, through psychedelic therapy, music and the unwavering support of close friends and family, I was able to navigate that chapter of my life, and come out stronger on the other side.
Hailing from Navan, Meath, Bowery Boy was formed in 2021 by songwriter Paul Clarke (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Barry Fitzgerald (drums). Bowery Boy quickly evolved into a full band when bassist Lenny Lane and lead guitarist Robbie Fitzgerald joined. Drawing inspiration from legends like The Beatles, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, and Queens of the Stone Age, Bowery Boy’s set list ranges from extended rock jams to sharp, three-minute indie anthems.
