Woodsmen are an emerging Dublin based Folk-Rock band looking to make a lasting mark on the Irish music scene. The band was formed in the British and Irish Modern Music Institute by songwriter Arron Woods (Rhythm Guitar/ Vocals) who recruited renowned musicians Cam Teehan (Drums) and Josh Hackett (Lead Guitar).

They create an exciting Rock & Roll sound that honours the distinct history of Irish Rock merged with the philosophical freedom of the Folk landscape. Their implementation of considered melody will entice you to sing along to their songs regardless of how many times you’ve listened to them. The band’s amalgamation of genre creates a nostalgic but exhilarating and fresh sound, making you think you’ve been listening to them for years. Woodsmen pays homage to the Folk Rock sphere of the late 60s and early 70s, through the fusion of acoustic and electric instrumentation, the utilisation of harmonies and the multitude of electric guitar textures associated with country, roots rock and rock & roll, as well as earthy, natural drum tones.

With their second single ‘Philadelphia Here I Come’, loosely inspired by the Brian Friel play of the same name, Woodsmen paint an inherently Irish picture of hardship, longing and hope, that marks a new chapter on their journey through the Irish rock spectrum. To celebrate the release of ‘Philadelphia Here I Come’ Woodsmen will take to the stage to play an exhilarating headline show in Whelans on the 30th of January 2025.
