Queen Bitch is a distinct and promising, emerging rock band, based in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in April 2023, the musical project is spearheaded by frontperson and writer Róisín Bohan, with Matt Brennan on bass, and its most recent line up seeing Rafael Barrelo join on lead guitar, and Sam Parcon on drums.
Addressing the breadth of human experience, the songs tell stories of finding strength, overcoming grief, and reconnecting with simple joys in life. The music blends rock, blues, and grunge, to mention a few genres, in empowering and inimitable ways.
“Peaceful Feeling” is the fourth single released by Queen Bitch, following her debut single “Bones” in October 2023, “Confines” in January 2024, and “The Last Time” in May which garnered support from Hot Press, Golden Plec, Today FM, Genuine Irish, RTÉ 2XM & many more. Much like “The Last Time”, “Peaceful Feeling” demonstrates Queen Bitch’s more bluesy, classic rock sound, featuring lots of dreamy lead guitar and soothing vocals.
“Peaceful Feeling” was written in early 2023 by Róisín Bohan, and recorded in January 2024 at Beardfire Studios, with the production team; Rohan Healy, Al Quiff, and head producer David Virgin. The record features Róisín Bohan on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Matt Brennan on bass and backing vocals, Rohan Healy on lead guitar, and Al Quiff on drums.

“Peaceful Feeling” is a poignant new song that explores the journey through life’s dark periods and the hope of emerging on the other side. This evocative track uses the ocean metaphor to depict the depths of emotion and darkness one can encounter during challenging times.
The song’s narrative follows a protagonist who sets out to sea, initially adrift and apprehensive of what lies ahead. “Peaceful Feeling” invites listeners to embrace the journey into the unknown without fear, assured that we are not alone… ”accompanied by these ‘sea-faring’ souls”. As the song progresses, it delves deeper, encouraging a departure from surface-level desires and material distractions, urging a deeper connection and trust in a greater force.
The song’s journey reaches a state of peace and bliss, emphasising that regardless of the turbulence we face, we can remain grounded and confident that everything will be alright. Initially overwhelmed by the ocean’s pull, the narrator learns to let go and discovers safety and support in the depths.
In the bridge, the narrator grapples with overwhelming challenges, pleading, “don’t ask for more,” and urging perseverance despite the hardships. “Peaceful Feeling” reassures us that we are guided by a higher power and do not have to navigate life’s struggles alone. It is a call to endure, trust the process, and find solace in knowing that we will return to safer shores.
