Elle León Gallagher is a Kildare-bred artist now based in Barcelona who is set to release her new single, ‘Music & Memories‘.
The track is the third of four singles leading up to her anticipated sophomore album later this year, following ‘Synergy‘ and ‘Too Much to Ask?‘
Gallagher’s sound is guided by emotion and melody, moving between retro soul-rock, classic pop-rock, and folk. Her music weighs heavily in emotive lyrical depth and melodies akin to the likes of artists such Alice Phoebe Lou, or the head-on guitar work found in Courtney Barnett’s material, and the theatrical spirit akin to CMAT, meanwhile attempting to retain a classic sensibility found in her earliest influences; the works of Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, or David Bowie.
Gallagher shares: ” ‘Music & Memories’ is a song written for my childhood friend Jeremy, who passed away unexpectedly in 2023. He was the first kid I had ever seen sing and play the guitar and the first person I knew to write songs and I am forever thankful for him leaving that lasting impression on me.”
“It is a celebratory rock tribute that paces through scenes of being 9 years old writing ‘Roses are red, violets are blue, Guns n’ Roses are savage and so are you’ on a Valentines card, right up to the last time I saw him out ‘the back of Fibbers (Magees) getting ready to play’, the disbelief of a life being cut so short and leaning into the power of music to relive and remember.”
Over the past year, Elle León Gallagher has opened for a range of international artists in Barcelona, including La Luz, Say She She, Holly Golightly, Brian Kennedy, Ten Tonnes, and Divorce (Primavera Tours 2025).
Her live performances have garnered attention from audiences and Spanish Media alike, with Indie Lovers noting, “A very well-defined set from an artist to keep an eye on,” and Qualsevol Nit describing her as an artist whose “angelic voice resonates; a clear, determined voice that seems to be the only light in the dark room.”
Ruta 66 has also commented on her “voice and a stage presence that prove a strong foundation for an upcoming artist.”
