Eimear Quinn Releases New Christmas Single ‘Winter Solstice’

December 17, 2021

Since the release of her version of ‘O Holy Night’ over a decade ago, Eimear’s voice has become synonymous for many with an Irish Christmas.

Her career and her long-term collaboration with Brendan Graham (composer of her Eurovision song The Voice ) actually began with a Christmas song when he first heard her sing his Winter, Fire and Snow at an Anúna concert.  Now that journey has come full circle with their new co-written song Winter Solstice.

Eimear says:   “There’s something bewitching about the Winter Solstice. That moment when the Earth tips to her extreme from the life-giving sun. Darkness dominates, and daylight is scant and fleeting. The sunrise (Newgrange) and sunset (Stonehenge) have been revered on this day for millennia”

In Winter Solstice Eimear Quinn (music) and Brendan Graham (lyrics) tempt the wonder of winter once more in this magical song, savouring the cover of darkness before the nights shorten and daylight makes her gains once more.
