Dublin-born songwriter Jo LaRue has been writing songs and playing piano since a young teen.

She graduated from BIMM Dublin where she studied Commercial Modern Music which brought flexibility in performing various genres. Growing up in a musical house which included Jazz and Funk has helped to shape and influence her unique and rich vocal sound. Blending influences of Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Nicks, Lily Allen, The Slits and many more. Similar to her personality, Jo brings humour to her songs through conversational lyrics, upbeat jazzy and Retro-Pop sounds. She went on to collaborate with some of Dublin’s talented session musicians performing on her latest single ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore.’

Jo has performed in venues such as The Sugar Club, Workman’s Cellar, and Fibbers. Having performed on song releases from various bands previously such as rock band ’Sheridan’ and folk influenced band ‘Blue Luna’, her first single as a solo artist ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore’ was released on the 27th of June 2024.

The single ‘Arizona’ was released on all music platforms on December 6th of last year. Her new upcoming single ‘Never Giving Up‘ will be her first release of 2025 which promises fresh new music to follow. This Reggae Pop number will be released on Friday the 14th of March.
