Alternative-hard rock trio Curfew, presents their debut single Lucid Mind – the first of a series of home-produced singles to be released in the coming months.
Lucid Mind encapsulates the band’s signature sound, characterized by swampy yet resounding guitar riffs, sonorous pulsating drums and luring haunting vocals. Lucid Mind tells a dark tale of confusion while the protagonist escapes intruding thoughts. Lucid Mind captures the vocal energy of Florence & the Machine, the haunt of Wolf Alice, and the darkness of Massive Attack, but with a unique soundscape of Irish-Lithuanian alternative/hard/noise/shoegaze rock.
Curfew fully formed in 2024 with the introduction of frontwoman Jj to the line-up, having temporarily operated as an instrumental rock duo of childhood neighbours Gavin & Mick. Curfew in the past year have performed across Ireland, including support slots, showcases and festivals, with billings at Livestock (Galway), Feile Beag (Tipperary), Fred Zeppelins in Cork and performances at Dublin venues such as Whelan’s, The Sound House, Anseo and The Grand Social. Curfew play upstairs at The Hut in Phibsboro on the of 30th November for a launch party.
Curfew are Jj Smilez (vocals), Gavin Dunne (guitar) and Mick Caffrey (drums). Lucid Mind was recorded by Curfew members from home and was mixed and mastered by Eoin Whitfield of The Hive Recording Studios.
