For fans of The Killers, Sam Fender, and Kings of Leon.

“Refusing to be confined by genre, Dominda brings a unique sound to the city, fusing classic rock with neo-soul and hip-hop to shape a journey through the plights and wild nights of hurtling towards their late twenties.” – GoldenPlec

“Dominda are sure to become quick and instant favourites’ for all who discover their effusive and effervescent music. Dive in headfirst – and if you get lost in all the excitement? Dominda!” Atwood Magazine

“Musically the EP is top notch with the group on-top of their game. With stunning vocals, guitars/drums and production, its hard to believe that Don’t Mind That is a debut release from a band sounding as though they have been around the studio for years.” – The Beat.ie

“A SetteeSounds staple is that we don’t listen to shite music. Dominda have no need to worry.” – SetteeSounds

Dominda (pronounced dough-mine-dah) are a Dublin based five-piece band consisting of Ruaidhrí Whelan, Stephen Curtis, Luke Cunningham, Seán Curtis and Barry Lysaght. The band formed in 2022, out of the immediate context of the lockdown.

After two years of being unable to play live we were all burning to finally pick up our instruments and play again, and from that flurry of excitement and creativity, Dominda was born. Since then, they have been turning heads around Dublin with their deliciously smooth brand of neo-funk rock and roll and raucous live shows.

The band blend elements of classic rock with neo-soul and hip-hop, with no shortage of ripping drum solos and crowd sing-a-longs. Their sound has fully matured into an instantly recognisable groove that their fans have come to love. Having released their semi-eponymous EP ‘Don’t Mind That’ in early 2024, and with a series of singles releasing across 2025 Dominda are fast becoming one of Ireland’s fastest rising new bands!

Sweet Rebecca‘ is a song is about a waking up hungover after laying it all on the line with someone you’ve been lusting over, feeling that loneliness and embarrassment, and hoping for a brighter tomorrow once the hangover subsides. It was written by the whole band and recorded in Dublin late last year in the Clinic Studio.
