On August 30th at 6:30 PM, the Wave in Dingle will be transformed into a phone-free haven as Offline x Dingle brings an unforgettable experience to the southwest of Ireland. Created by Offline, an initiative dedicated to promoting digital mindfulness and authentic human connection, this unique event invites locals and visitors to disconnect from their devices and reconnect with Dingle’s vibrant culture and breathtaking beauty.

Offline co-founders Amanda (Texas) and Sarah (Dublin) share a deep love for the Dingle Peninsula. From mountaintop naps to sea-inspired adventures, their time spent in Dingle has inspired them to create a space where people can engage in meaningful conversations and experiences without the distractions of their digital lives.

“We’ve fallen in love with Dingle, and each visit reminds us of the power of presence. Offline x Dingle is our way of sharing that magic with others,” says Amanda.

Event Highlights:

Candlelit Tales: Special guest Aron Hegarty, storyteller and founder of Candlelit Tales will share Irish myths and legends that evoke the rich folklore of Dingle. Caoimhín, a talented Irish musician, will enhance the stories with atmospheric, live music.

Partnership with Dingle Distillery: Each ticket includes two complimentary drinks from the renowned Dingle Distillery, providing a taste of locally crafted spirits in a setting that celebrates Dingle’s history and maritime heritage.

Immersive Venue: The event will be hosted at Wave, Dingle, a repurposed fish processing plant now known for its interactive exhibitions showcasing the Dingle coast. Attendees will immerse themselves in a sensory journey featuring large-scale projections, soundscapes, and encounters with Dingle’s ocean wildlife, from shipwrecks to humpback whales.

What Makes Offline Different?

The Offline experience is designed to be distraction-free. Upon arrival, attendees’ phones will be securely locked away in C-UTE denim pouches, designed by Dublin-based upcycling textile artist Domi. This thoughtful touch ensures participants can fully engage with the event, creating an atmosphere where live connections thrive.

Offline’s mission is rooted in digital mindfulness and fostering a more connected, present way of living. By offering events that encourage attendees to step away from the virtual world, Offline empowers people to create lasting memories and meaningful relationships.

“We believe in creating opportunities for people to connect without the noise of social media. Offline events give people the space to really engage with the moment – whether that’s through storytelling, music, or just chatting over a pint,” adds Sarah.

Why Dingle?

For Amanda and Sarah, Dingle represents the ultimate escape. From the town’s rugged coastline to its lively pubs, Dingle is a place where people can slow down, savour their surroundings, and embrace the joy of being truly present. Offline x Dingle is a celebration of these values.

“We wanted to share our love for this beautiful place and help others experience what makes Dingle so special – whether it’s staying at Fab View, a pint in Bob Griffin’s, taking in the ocean views or connecting with others in ways that digital life just doesn’t allow,” says Amanda.
