Dr Deirdre Masterson, one of Ireland’s most accomplished vocalists and educators, has just released her inspiring new single “Amazing Grace”, recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Billy Farrell at Dead Eye Studios. The single was released on November 7th and has already reached Number 3 in the iTunes Christian and Gospel Charts.

Fusing her worlds of Classical and Celtic Crossover music, Masterson’s version of the timeless hymn delivers an emotive and uplifting soundscape. The recording features acclaimed musician Mark Redmond on pipes, with Ken Rice and David Doyle providing a rich string arrangement on violin, viola, and cello. Deirdre is joined by her sisters, Aisling and Kelli Ann Masterson, whose harmonies add a beautifully personal dimension to the track. Farrell’s deft production weaves these elements together with his signature keyboard and programming artistry, creating a fresh and moving interpretation of this classic piece.

A native of Gorey, Co. Wexford, Dr Masterson has enjoyed a remarkable career across Opera, Operetta, Concert, and Musical Theatre, performing to critical acclaim from the National Concert Hall to Carnegie Hall. As Performing Arts Dean at American College Dublin and Director of The Irish College of Music Theatre, she has played a pivotal role in introducing Music Theatre into the Irish higher education landscape.

A passionate advocate for Irish talent, Dr Masterson has mentored and coached many of the country’s most successful artists, including Dermot Kennedy, Picture This, Kodaline, Damien Dempsey, Allie Sherlock, and performers from Celtic Woman, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Irish National Opera. Her extensive work also includes serving as a vocal coach for the Eurovision Song Contest.

In recent years, Deirdre has enjoyed chart success with several No.1 Irish singles, including “Dreamer” and “Jealous of the Angels” from her orchestral album Mo Chroí (recorded with the Philharmonia Bulgarica), as well as her charity release “Run” in support of the Irish Cancer Charity Relay for Life.

Deirdre will perform “Amazing Grace” live as part of her upcoming Christmas Concerts at the National Opera House on December 12th, and at Marlfield House Hotel on December 14th.

“Amazing Grace” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
