IMRO would like to congratulate CMAT on her nomination for the 2024 Mercury Prize album of the year award. The Irish singer has been nominated for her 2023 release Crazymad, For Me.
The annual album prize shortlist is chosen “based solely on their musical merit and irrespective of how popular or successful an album or act that has been submitted may have been in the previous calendar year”.
To be eligible for the prize over 50 per cent of a band’s members must be British or Irish, and submissions are made by record labels.
CMAT joins superstar Charli XCX, who was nominated for the prize in 2020 with record How I’m Feeling Now, and has also made the list with her sixth studio album, Brat, this year.
2024 breakout stars English Teacher and The Last Dinner Party are also on the list of 12 nominations for the prestigious prize.

The winner, to be revealed in September, will receive £25,000 and significant media exposure. Recent winners include Ezra Collective (2023), Little Simz (2022), and Arlo Parks (2021).
