After enjoying great success with their recent singles ‘Revolution’ and ‘Can’t You See?’ and a summer packed full of showcases and support slots. circa lean heavier than ever into their britpop roots with brand new release, ‘Someday’.

The first in circa’s catalogue to be written by lead guitarist, Maitiú Nealon. Someday’s lyrics explore aspirations of growth, reflection, and self actualisation. Coupled with lead singer Sean Fox’s layered vocal performance, ‘Someday’ is an introspective and psychedelic twist on a now vintage arrangement.

“Outside my world collides. Someday, I won’t be alone…” The track, which is relatively new to the band, immediately struck a chord with the boys. ‘Someday’ harkens back to an era when rock, britpop, and rave all combined.

Opening with a massive, 80s inspired drum sound before exploding into an intoxicating rhythm section coupled with colourful waves of ethereal 12-string acoustic guitars, pulsating synthesizers, deep, droning basslines, and a combination of chorus lead guitar and psychedelic vocals that paint the song in melody and lift it into on-brand, headbop psychedelia.

About The Band

After crossing paths in 2021, Sean (vocals), Maitiu (guitar), Fionn (drums) and Sam (bass) quickly realised that they all shared a mutual love and respect for similar styles of music. Namely, 80s/90s indie-rock, soul and rnb and vintage/modern day pop. All sounds that can be heard in their music today. On top of that, they all shared a strong desire to create music like the greats that came before them.

For circa, it’s not just about creating for creation’s sake, they want to solidify themselves as another legendary Irish group on par with Thin Lizzy, The Cranberries and The Pogues to name a few. For the four boys, it was a no-brainer that they would form a band and start to create together to bring the music they’d heard in their heads for so long to life.

As frontman Sean puts it: “playing and being in music is just innate to us”

circa’s music is heavily pop influenced which is not something the band shies away from. Catchy hooks and confident arrangements are ever-present in their art and it’s their love for such a variety of styles that allows them to take elements from each genre and blend them together seamlessly into something new and authentic.

With five tracks under their belt, multiple headline shows (Whelan’s, Bello Bar, etc.) and just announced slots at Ireland Music Week 2025 and Whelan’s Summer Watch, circa are on a fast track to becoming one of the most recognisable names in the Irish music scene and with their feet pressed firmly on the gas, the sky’s the limit for these young creatives.
