Described as the Irish Kate Bush, Irish singer-songwriter, Ciara Lawless releases her 2nd pop/dance single Blessing In Disguise on 12th May. A song about the best thing that never happened, Ciara joined Beta DeSilva on the New Music Show on 2FM where she premiered ‘Blessing In Disguise’.
After two albums Ciara has taken a leap into the dance genre blending an upbeat catchy melody with an upbeat message: Whatever didn’t happen was a blessing in Disguise!
The song is fresh and uses a dance palette, creating a feel that fits Ciara’s vocals and ready allows her to have fun. Ciara’s catchy hooks and memorable melody will resonate across all ages.
Ciara’s path to music is rooted in resilience. At just six years old, she experienced a life-altering accident when a steel gate fell on her, leaving her right leg hanging by the skin. Knocked unconscious, she awoke to see her deaf grandfather wheeling a wheelbarrow in their farmyard. Despite not hearing her screams, something made him turn around. Realising she was trapped, he rushed to her side. Unable to lift the heavy steel gate on his own, he looked to the sky and said, “God, give me strength,” before miraculously pulling the gate off and saving her life. That moment of determination and love stayed with Ciara, shaping her outlook forever.
For six months, Ciara was unable to walk and during that time she found solace in music. Learning piano and guitar became a way to heal and cope with the trauma, turning pain into creativity. It was in those moments of recovery that Ciara’s deep love for music took root setting her on a lifelong journey of artistic expression. She knew what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Known for her soulful voice and iconic flower head crowns that she makes herself, Ciara has made waves on the festival circuit, earning recognition as a dynamic live performer. With 2 Albums under her belt followed by a European Tour taking in UK, France, Germany and Portugal and a sold out headline gig in Dublin last year.
After receiving regular airplay on 2FM, Newstalk, iRadio, RTE1, BBC, iRadio, Galway Bay FM, RED FM and many more, Ciara’s new song is her second single from her third studio album set for release end of 2026.
