Amidst a busy summer of festival appearances at the likes of All Together Now, Éalú Le Grá and Fuinneamh, CAOIMHÍN drops his modern take on Irish language folk song ‘Bímse Féin Ag Iascaireacht’. The track features a mix of trad, electronic dance and pop elements and is the third single to be released off the musician’s upcoming debut album ‘Ríocht Na Sí’. The single was released on all streaming platforms on Friday 20/9/24.
CAOIMHÍN (pronounced “kwee-veen”) is a producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist forging a soulful new Gaelic sound. Born into a musical family, he began playing traditional Irish music at the tender age of 5 and spent the majority of his early childhood summers travelling to and from various different fleadhs and music weeks. In his late teens and early twenties, he began to develop an interest in a wide variety of other genres outside of the traditional music realm which led him to discover most notably electronic dance music and its many forms. His unique sound takes influence from the range of musical styles which the musician has been exploring from that point up until now, while being rooted at the same time to the long unbroken lineage of tradition on which he was reared.
