July 3, 2025

Celebrating 30 Years of Pride, Music, and Community
Deadline for Submissions: 29 August 2025

Glória LGBT+ Choir is delighted to announce a call for new music to mark a major milestone: our 30th anniversary. Founded in 1995, Glória was Ireland’s first gay and lesbian choir and has since become one of the country’s most cherished and visible musical ensembles. As we prepare to launch our 30th year celebrations in October 2025, we are seeking original compositions that reflect our journey, our values, and our vision for the future. Glória LGBT+ Choir are proud and delighted to be working with IMRO on this initiative and wish to acknowledge their support and sponsorship.

About Glória
Glória is a four-part SATB choir based in Dublin, welcoming members from across the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. Our purpose is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for people to come together in song, to celebrate diversity, and to promote equality through music. We perform a wide repertoire—from classical to contemporary, sacred to secular—and are known for our vibrant concerts, community outreach, and advocacy for LGBT+ rights.
Our performances aim to entertain, inspire, and challenge, while fostering understanding and acceptance. Through music, we strive to give voice to the experiences of LGBT+ people and to contribute positively to Irish cultural life.

What We’re Looking For
We are inviting composers and songwriters to submit original choral works that will be premiered as part of our 30th anniversary concert season. Our tagline for our 30th year is ‘Singing in the Changes, We were There’. ● Full scores that are well-crafted, expressive, and accessible to a community choir with a range of musical abilities.
● Works that reflect themes of pride, resilience, love, identity, solidarity, and hope.
● Songs that align with our values and advocate for greater rights and visibility for LGBT+ people and their loved ones.
● While classical in nature, we welcome a diversity of musical styles, including contemporary classical, folk-inspired, or cross-genre works that maintain a choral foundation.
● Duration: ideally between 3–6 minutes.
● Language: Irish and or English are preferred , other languages are welcome.

What We Offer
● Selected works will be premiered during our 30th anniversary concert season (beginning October 2025) culminating in a gala concert performance in Ireland in June 2026 and in Brussels at the Various Voices LGBT Choral Music Festival in late June 2026.
