Rising Irish indie-rock band Boy M5 have announced the release of their anthemic new single ‘St. James‘, a track that blends the stadium-sized energy of Kings of Leon, the grit of Biffy Clyro, and the heart of Bryan Adams.

Produced and mixed at Egg House Studios by band members Kyle O’Neill, Nigel Hegarty, and Jamie McClelland, and mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, ‘St. James‘ delivers a raw yet polished sound that’s both emotional and arena-ready. The track also carries a special weight, featuring backing vocals from the late Paul Mooney, whose voice continues to echo in Boy M5’s music.

The song dives into themes of love, doubt, and hope set against an apocalyptic backdrop. “It’s about finding light in the darkness,” says frontman Kyle O’Neill. With driving guitars, soaring vocals, and an unforgettable chorus, it’s a track built for sing-alongs and festival stages.

St. James‘ is the latest step toward Boy M5’s anticipated debut album, following a string of releases that have already earned them press support from The Irish Times, BBC Introducing, and RTÉ 2FM, as well as standout festival appearances.

The single is accompanied by striking artwork from Ria O’Neill, and a forthcoming music video, further cementing Boy M5’s reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting new rock acts.
