BellX1 drummer Tim O’Donovan aka Neosupervital releases second single ‘I.S.T.H.I.S.L.O.V.E’ from upcoming album
Neosupervital *(aka multi-instrumentalist and producer Tim O’Donovan) is back with the second single off his highly anticipated third album ‘Transporter’.
‘I.S.T.H.I.S.L.O.V.E‘, which was released on April 4th, bears all the hallmarks of the Neosupervital sound with its hypnotic electronic beats and lyrics. As well as fronting Neosupervital, Tim also drums for Irish band Bell X1 and was one half of synth duo Buffalo Woman. The infectious sounds of Neosupervital has seen the act, who has been compared to Beck and Eels with a touch of Daft Punk, open for acts including The Divine Comedy and Stewart Copeland as well as performing at numerous Irish festivals like Electric Picnic, Body and Soul, Forbidden Fruit and All Together Now.
Neosupervital has released two critically acclaimed albums to date, ‘Neosupervital’ in 2006 and ‘Battery Power’ in 2010. Speaking about the second single off his highly anticipated new album, Tim said: “For I.S.T.H.I.S.L.O.V.E. I wanted to veer away from the verse /chorus / verse type pop song and stretch out a little with a mostly instrumental track.
“I wanted to make something to nod your head to, take a late night drive to, maybe even dance along to at a house party. The phrase “Is this love” is certainly a question I’ve asked myself in my time, and I’d imagine I wouldn’t be alone in that. It’s a hard one to answer, but I think when you know, you know.”
He added: “After releasing Factory Presets earlier this year, I wanted to release a completely different type of track for the second single off the upcoming album ‘Transporter’. It’s a pretty eclectic album where no two songs sound the same, but they still all hang together nicely as Neosupervital tunes.”
Neosupervital will be playing The Starbar in Dublin City Centre on April 12.
