Bell X1 to play special end-of-year shows live at St. Luke’s, Cork & The Helix, Dublin
Bell X1 are playing some very special end-of-year shows for Cork and Dublin. This follows the release of their 8th studio album, Merciful Hour, last year, and a busy run of festivals over the summer.
“We are excited to announce a series of shows in Dublin and Cork that are born out of our favourite collaborative moments of the past few years. Dec 12 -14 – we return to Live at St. Luke’s in Cork with Dowry Strings for 3 shows featuring new string arrangements of tunes from across our catalogue. Dec 20-21 – we will perform for the first time at The Helix in Dublin with Theodora Byrne and a 12 person choir. These shows will feature new vocal arrangements from across the catalogue. We are looking forward to closing out the year with you in this special way!”.
Bell X1 live is always a magical experience, and the band are constantly evolving and changing things up for themselves and their fans. Collaborating with Dowry Strings and the choir has resulted in some incredible moments and moving live experiences.
Last year Bell X1 released their 8th studio album, Merciful Hour, in May, with the single “Haint Blue” being revealed first. The ten-track album was recorded in Dublin with producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy. A project the band had been working on since 2018, and their first studio album since Arms in 2016.
Bell X1 are Paul Noonan, Dave Geraghty & Dominic Philips.
Dowry Strings specialise in cross-timbral & cross-genre collaborations. The ensemble is run by Éna Brennan (Dowry) and includes musicians Gareth Quinn Redmond, Nozomi Cohen and Yseult Cooper Stockdale.
Theodora Byrne is a session vocalist, keyboardist, arranger, songwriter and musical director, who has been internationally since 2015. In 2020, she established ‘The Theodora Byrne Ensemble’, a contemporary singing group who have collaborated with artists such as Bell X1, Lisa Hannigan, James Vincent McMorrow, Wallis Bird, Saint Sister and more. Now based in Berlin Germany, Theodora teaches music in BIMM University and plays live with German pop artist Michael Patrick Kelly. In addition to this, she continues to work on projects for the Ensemble.
