Bell X1 Announce Ninth Studio Album

Ireland’s much-loved band Bell X1 today announce details of a new studio album Good Bones, alongside the release of the first single, ‘But First, Love‘.
Recorded during recent sessions in New York, But First, Love leans into a bright, propulsive rhythm with an undercurrent of longing.
The band have been recording their ninth studio album with producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin at Dreamland Recording Studios in Upstate New York.
Speaking about the new album, Paul Noonan says:
“The record was made shortly after losing our friend and collaborator, Glenn Keating, and was a very heightened, emotional, but beautiful time. Truly immersing ourselves in the making, without distraction and with open hearts, felt profound and cathartic. Glenn was talked about a lot, felt very present. Josh and Dan were very sensitive to this and brought such brilliance and care to the process.”
Those heading to their summer shows will be the first to hear a number of these new songs in the wild. Special guests joining them across the tour: Soda Blonde (Limerick & Galway), Bren Berry (Dublin), Babyrat (Cork), & Dave Lofts (Sligo).
Bell X1 – Paul Noonan, David Geraghty and Dominic Phillips – have been a constant and quietly evolving presence in Irish music since forming in 1999. Across eight studio albums, four of which were nominated for the Choice Music Prize, they have built a catalogue that continues to deepen, balancing instinctive pop songwriting with a restless curiosity for sounds and textures.
They remain one of the country’s most compelling live bands, with a connection to their audience that has only grown stronger over time.
As they embark on their summer dates, Paul says:
“This is the first run of full fat shows we’ve done in some time, and we’re itching to play some of the new songs, along with all the smash hits! Our friend Cormac Curran will be joining us on keys and guitar, along with Tim O’Donovan on drums.”
