Ireland’s vocal band Ardú will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a concert on Saturday 27th July 2024 at the Button Factory in Dublin. The show will feature Ardú and guest performers Dulciana Vocal Ensemble and will be an homage to Ardú’s decade of a cappella singing, featuring performances of their greatest hits, as well as brand new original songs and arrangements.
In addition, on the same day Ardú will officially release their new single ‘One Good Day’, featuring its premiere performance at the anniversary concert. The song was composed by Carl Corcoran and Ciarán Kelly, with lyrics by Art McGann, and was arranged for Ardú by Ciarán Kelly, artistic director at the time. It was recorded back in 2022 with the group’s previous lineup and is being released now to commemorate Ardú’s 10-year legacy.
‘One Good Day’ is an uplifting, empowering ballad with a powerful message: though life may be short, making the best of the time we have can bring about happiness and meaning, and it all starts with one good day. This message is driven home by a gorgeous instrumental accompanying track, tight and crisp vocal harmonies and powerful solos recorded by Ciarán Kelly, Leanne Fitzgerald and Filip Klubička.
While some of the singers on the track are not active with Ardú anymore, this release remains true to the group’s ethos and continues to nurture a fruitful creative relationship with songwriter Carl Corcoran, who wrote multiple songs for Ardú in the past, most notably The Phoenix (Corcoran/McGann), which featured at a commemorative event at the Irish Consulate in New York City on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
Carl will be joining many of Ardú’s previous members at the Button Factory to celebrate the group’s ten magical years of a cappella singing.
